Infosys Mysuru Campus Layoffs

Infosys Mysuru Campus Layoffs, one of India’s leading IT companies, has reportedly undertaken a significant layoff, terminating around 400 trainees at its Mysuru campus in Karnataka. According to national media reports, the company dismissed these employees after they failed evaluation tests.

Infosys has faced severe criticism regarding its handling of fresher recruitment. In response, the company onboarded fresh graduates last year. However, it is now reported that nearly half of the trainees who joined in 2024 have been affected by the layoffs.

These individuals were issued termination letters after failing three consecutive evaluation tests. Reports suggest that trainees were called in batches and asked to sign “mutual separation” letters. However, Infosys has not yet released an official statement regarding these layoffs.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, one of the affected trainees expressed frustration, alleging that the evaluation tests were deliberately made excessively difficult to ensure their failure. The trainee described the process as highly unfair.

As part of its 2022-23 hiring cycle, Infosys had recruited 2,000 fresh graduates through campus placements for roles such as System Engineer and Digital Specialist Engineer. These candidates, who graduated in 2022, received offer letters but experienced significant delays in their onboarding.

Infosys faced widespread criticism and even complaints were lodged with labor authorities regarding these delays. Eventually, after a two-year wait, these freshers were onboarded in April 2024. However, reports suggest that the company is now attempting to reduce its workforce by laying off nearly half of these employees.

Infosys has not yet provided an official response to these allegations.
