Sankranthiki Vasthunam Sets Record on Day 6
Sankranthiki Vasthunam, directed by Anil Ravipudi, becomes the highest-grossing film on its 6th day, grossing ₹146 crore worldwide. Starring Venkatesh Daggubati, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Aishwarya Rajesh, the film has received rave reviews and shattered box-office records.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam, the much-anticipated film directed by Anil Ravipudi, has surpassed all expectations at the box office. Released on January 14, 2025, the film stars Venkatesh Daggubati, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Aishwarya Rajesh in pivotal roles.
The film’s plot revolves around Yadagiri Damodhar Raju (Venkatesh), a retired police officer living peacefully in Rajahmundry with his wife Bhagya Lakshmi (Aishwarya Rajesh). Their life takes a dramatic turn when Raju’s former lover, Meenakshi (Meenakshi Chaudhary), re-enters their world, setting off a series of comedic and emotional events.
Upon release, Sankranthiki Vasthunam garnered positive reviews for its engaging storytelling and stellar performances. The film’s box-office performance was nothing short of remarkable, grossing ₹23 crore on its opening day.
The collection continued to rise, with ₹20 crore on Day 2, ₹17.5 crore on Day 3, ₹16 crore on Day 4, and ₹17.25 crore on Day 5, bringing its five-day total to over ₹93 crore.
However, the real milestone came on Day 6, when Sankranthiki Vasthunam achieved a record by becoming the highest-grossing film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
With an impressive ₹12.5 crore share in AP/TS, the film’s total share for Day 6 reached ₹16.12 crore worldwide, including overseas earnings. By the end of the extended weekend, the worldwide total soared to ₹146 crore, setting a new benchmark in the industry.
Despite facing challenges like an online leak, Sankranthiki Vasthunam continued to dominate the box office, with fans demanding additional screenings. The film’s success reflects not only its strong performances and captivating storyline but also its widespread popularity among audiences.
